Helensburgh is the first town to take up Totally Locally outside of West Yorkshire. We went up for a visit and loved the people and the town. So bear with us while we get this part of the website running. The launch of Totally Locally Helensburgh is at the end of July, so watch this space for some exiting events to celebrate.

We’ve also been approached by quite a few more towns to put Totally Locally into their place too, so we’re working extra hard. So Viva the High Street Revolution (in a nice, polite kind of way if you don’t mind).

Meanwhile….

Totally Locally is all about Me, You, Him & Her. It’s about shopping in your street, your town, your district. It’s about jobs & community, it’s about investing today for a prosperous tomorrow, it’s about making our towns better places to live, work & visit.

Totally Locally is about opening your eyes to the great independent shops and businesses which grace Helensburgh and the nearby area.  It’s here to encourage you to turn into the door of that shop you walk past every day. Go on, give it a try – there’s a good chance you’ll want to go back.

It’s about supporting local growers, producers and services: be it furniture makers, farmers, accountants or bakers.

Most of all though it’s about people. Great people. People who care about what they do, what they grow, what they make and ultimately the people they sell it to.

And it’s about all of us. A collective responsibility of all of us to support these businesses. Because when we do our towns thrive. If you support a local shop or business, chances are they support at least ten others. And those ten support another ten each. It’s the very structure of what we have come to love about this area.

If every adult in Helensburgh spent just £5 per week extra in our local shops & businesses (instead of on line or at the big supermarkets) it would mean an extra £3.1 million a year going into our local economy! Which means more jobs, a better town and a nicer place for us all to live. Makes you think doesn’t it?
