Sunnyside View

You know when Great Aunt Sue’s about to descend on you for the Easter weekend, and you’re kind of looking forward to it but also dreading having her and those high standards of hers under your roof for three whole nights? If this gives you a quick shudder, you should definitely know about Sunnyside View.

Sunnyside View is a newly refurbished Bed & Breakfast just on the edge of Edwinstowe village. Owner, Liane Shore has done a brilliant job of turning a 1933 home into luxury accommodation. Think proper bedsteads, crisp cotton sheets, plump but stylish pillows, and homemade biscuits. Any one of Liane’s three en-suite rooms would be a perfect place to park Aunt Sue… or the guests for your wedding… or you and your beau for a well-deserved break from the kids.  One night’s sleep in Liane’s designer “Hypnos” or “Feather and Black” beds would take even Aunt Sue’s edge off!

Liane’s home cooked breakfasts are also worthy of a Totally Locally ‘HURRAH!”. Her menus read like a Sunday morning with Nigella Lawson – “Creamy devilled mushrooms on toasted sourdough” anyone? What’s more, Liane sources her ingredients as locally and as organically as she can, supporting almost all of the village shops. Even her guest soaps and chocolates are made in Edwinstowe.

So, to summarise. Liane’s B&B brings visitors to Edwinstowe, gives them a wonderful night’s sleep, feeds them Edwinstowe food, washes them in Edwinstowe soap, spoils them rotten with Edwinstowe chocolate and Edwinstowe hospitality, and leaves them happy enough to shop til they drop on the village high street, and to recommend Edwinstowe to all their friends. How Totally Locally lovely is that?
