Ayhan and his brother Dogas are behind a true hidden gem of our town with Spuds & Stuff. Hidden away at the side of Halifax Market, its easy to miss them in passing, and what a shame it would be to never discover their delicious chicken wraps or meze style salad boxes!

In the time I have stood at their counter, the number of their regulars who have stopped by and claimed to be their best and most loyal customer (I actually lost count) just goes to show how good the food is! No wonder people who eat here keep coming back for more, Ayhan’s passion for the food he makes is evident in every morsel of every meal that he sells.

Hailing from Turkey, he hasn’t always been a chef, but with a lot of experience that fed his love of cooking, we are lucky that he has ended up here in Halifax! Opening at 6am every morning, and making everything fresh from scratch (his stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki and homemade hummus are definitely stars of the show) its no wonder he practically sells out by each afternoon! Using as many local suppliers as he can, including getting all of his salad and vegetables from Max Crossleys in Halifax Market, making the food that little bit tastier! Not to mention that it’s some of the friendliest service you will ever come across!

With no website or advertising it really is word of mouth that gets people to visit here, and that’s the most reliable way to find places like this because you know it’s tried, tested and down right delicious! Definitely worth a try and once you’ve tasted the food it’s easy to see why he has so many loyal customers!
